Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program
Astronaut Ronald E. McNair's life was one of challenges met and overcome. From his roots in a small South Carolina town, he worked and studied his way into the elite ranks of those who have traveled in space. He had further aspirations that he considered even more lofty than space travel; he planned to enter the teaching profession. Unfortunately, his dreams ended in the 1986 explosion of the U.S. space shuttle Challenger. Mission specialist McNair and all of his crew mates perished in that tragic accident.
The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program takes pride in assisting the future leaders of tomorrow. The McNair Scholars Program has a rich history of producing exceptional scholars that exude excellence in all aspects of life. As one of the top ten McNair Programs in the nation it is our personal goal that every student attains the analytical and quantitative research experience needed to pursue future endeavors.
"Whether or not you reach your goals in life depends entirely on how well you prepare for them and how badly you want them. You're eagles! Stretch your wings and fly to the sky."
~Ronald E. McNair, PhD
